• 7/11 10:01am DV: I think we pretty much agree. My main point was that we shouldn't speak negatively of someone's work, if the problem is not with the work, but just that we don't like the person. Similarly, we shouldn't be afraid to speak negatively of someone's work even though he is a Norfolk resident or business, if the problem really is with the work. Certainly, no one should be reluctant to state his honest opinion (whatever it is) simply because he might be a minority of one.
    With respect to Bourque's, the problem wasn't mainly the so-so ice cream, it was more what they passed off as being whipped cream. But, that was quite a while ago, so I do intend to try Bourque's again.
    There was an interesting review of "The Best New England Ice Cream Stands" at visitingnewengland.com/icecream.html. (The only date I see is a 2005 copyright date at the bottom of the web page.) The one they consider the best in New England is "The Ice Cream Machine" in Cumberland, RI. It's pretty close and I've been there a few times. I think the Spruce Pond Creamery in Franklin is better.
    At great personal sacrifice (to our health and waistlines), I think that we should conduct a scientific study by eating an ice cream sundae at and rating each of the following (relatively local) ice cream places. (I believe that I have had ice cream at all but one of them - but in fairness, I really should try them all again.)
