HAITI RELIEF EFFORT WEBSITES

* Direct support to DISASTER-ZONE-BASED organizations *

Citizen Action Team (www.citizencommandcenter.org) operates on "online relief database" which tracks "needs" and "available services".

CAT is a network of "virtual volunteers" that contact relief groups to understand their needs IN DISASTER ZONES.
CAT is connected with thousands of volunteer relief groups across the US.
CAT helps donation collection sites guide donations gathering and volunteer organizing.
CAT operates works with disaster relief groups and Emergency Managemnt Agencies around the world.
CAT has developed several lists to help relief groups.

DO NOT GO TO HAITI or SEND any items. See notes below on volunteering and in-kind donations.

The full list of responding-orgs that we have listed can be found at:

http://www.citizencommandcenter.org/conditions/list?preset=104

VOLUNTEERING and SUPPLIES

Update: January 14 1:00 am eastern

Volunteers will be needed, but it's not clear how many or where, or what
the accomodations will be for housing of volunteers. So if you want to go
and aren't already hooked up with military or medical reserve corps, please
sit tight. We'll know more in a few days... UNEEDED VOLUNTEERS and supplies
CREATE A "DISASTER AFTER THE DISASTER". DO NOT SELF-DEPLOY.

We have a source for sending in-kind donations for $2/pound, and one that
is shipping air transport from Miami, but it is not clear how much they can
accomodate. So we are holding off for another day to see how much they
can accomodate and whether military/and other established disaster
corps can provide basics or not.

Check with us if you have large, palletized food/water donations, or tarps,
linens, or medical supplies. We can help you find appropriate locations
and shipping. Please do not gather other in-kind donatins until requested.

In the meantime, GIVE MONEY...

Stay tuned for more suggestions... Please spread the wealth...
