Advent Schedule

In addition to the weekly worship service at 10:00 each Sunday, the Federated Church of Norfolk will hold Tuesday evening vesper services during Advent. The 7:00-7:30 pm services will offer a time for meditation and music in preparation for Christmas. Come "Home for the Holy Days in the household of God" on Tuesdays Dec. 3, 17, and 17.

2.1.1 On Sunday December 8, the Church's Music Ministry will present its annual Christmas Concert at 7:00 pm. The church's choir, praise and worship group, children's choir, cathedral bell choir and chapel chimes children's bell choir will share a festive and sacred hour of music with all! Fellowship and refreshments will follow.

In order to acknowledge the pain and sadness many people experience at Chrismastime, there will be a special worship service on Sunday December 15 at 5:00 pm. All who feel out of synch with the "Merry Christmas" atmosphere at this season are invited to attend.

2.1.1.1.1.1.1.1 An Ecumenical Christmas Walk will be held in Norfolk on Sunday, December 22nd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Families from St. Jude's, Emmanuel Baptist and The Federated Church will meet at St. Jude's Church on Main Street and walk to the Federated Church in the town center for a live nativity. The group will then walk back to St. Jude's for a time of fellowship, refreshments and music. Carols will be sung during the walk and the way will be lit with luminaries. Walkers are asked to bring a lantern or electric candle. Participation is open to the public. In case of extremely inclement weather, the walk will be cancelled, but caroling and refreshments will still be held at St. Jude's Church at 6:00 p.m.

Three Christmas Eve services will be held at the Federated Church of Norfolk. The 6:00 pm service is family oriented. The 8:00 pm service will be a candlelight worship with the choir providing the music and the 11:00 pm candlelight service will include communion with music by the Praise & Worship group.
