Thank You from the Norfolk Community League and Norfolk Lions
Dear Editor:
The Norfolk Community League and the Norfolk Lions would like to take this opportunity to thank the many wonderful people who helped make the first annual Haunted Train Ride a spectacular success.
Under the guidance of our tireless committee of Paula Austin, Lesley Horner, Joe Sebastiano, Craig Koch the effort raised a substantial amount to benefit Stony Brook Sanctuary. Over 900 riders came to Holmes fields on Sunday, October 27th to experience the thrills and terrors of the Haunted Train Ride. The participation exceeded our expectations!
We would like to thank the sponsors Roche Bros., Dunkin' Donuts, Norfolk Lions Soccer and James' Roadside Cafe in Wrentham for their donations. Additionally, this truly community event could not have taken place without the support and effort of the following groups: Another Hue Art Gallery in Wrentham, Norfolk Boy Scouts, Norfolk Fire Department, DARE, Leo Club of King Philip, Norfolk Garden Club, Stony Brook, Norfolk Girl Scouts, St. Jude's Church, Norfolk Lions and Norfolk Community League. Each of these groups decorated a section of the train ride for the delight of the passengers.
Finally, a huge thank you goes to the Holmes Family, for without their generous donation of the train itself, the engineers, and the grounds the Haunted Train Ride would not have taken place. We are deeply indebted to their wonderful generosity.
Sincerely,
Addie Gibson, Norfolk Community League
