The Norfolk Community Day 2002 Committee is putting the final touches on a plan that expands Community Day activities planned for June 8th at Holmes Transportation property on Myrtle Street in Norfolk. The day begins at 9:30 AM with a Roadrace organized by the Norfolk Community League and runs through 4:00 PM with activities throughout the day.

In addition to the many popular activities provided in the past 8 years, there are a number of new rides, animal displays, fun activities and unique features. Please mark this date on your calendar.

One of the new attractions is a special program to display Hip Hop dancing, that will be presented by Project Concern from the Greater Boston area.

Project Concern has been traveling throughout the Commonwealth giving Hip Hop dance instruction and has drawn rave reviews at every performance. Project Concern has been proactive for 12 years helping intercity youth focus their considerable talent into terrific programs like their Hip Hop dance group and Norfolk is lucky to have been able to land them on our agenda this year at Community Day. The Norfolk Lions wish to thank the Norfolk Arts Council for sponsoring their participation this year.

Norfolk Community Day is the premier Norfolk Lions community service project each year. Community Day is our way of giving back to the community that has been so generous in supporting our fund raising activities for those less fortunate than ourselves. The Norfolk Lions have served Norfolk since October 1958 and if you are interested in learning more about Lions, contact John Wason @508-528-8526.
