12th Annual Norfolk Lions Community Day Expected To Be Bigger And Better Than Ever
Norfolk, MA June 1, 2004. The Twelfth Annual Norfolk Lions Club Community Day, to be held at the Holmes Transportation site on Myrtle Street, Saturday June 12th will feature more activities and events in which people may participate than ever before. As in years past, Community Day will bring together most of the service organizations in the town. A full array of interesting events from crafts, music, dancing exhibits, animals, rides, demonstrations, and athletic events will mark this high point event of the Lions Club year. There will be cotton candy, lemonade and cold drinks, hot dogs, hamburgers and sausages. In a separate but parallel event, the Norfolk Community League will hold its road races beginning at 9:00 am.
People should mark their calendars for this special day. Events begin at 10:30 am and continue through the afternoon until around 4pm. Last year the day drew an estimated 3,000 people and more are expected this year. Whether for the very young or for the Senior Set, the day will provide a range of activities sure to present something appealing to all.

John Wason and Barbara Snead, Community Day Cochairmen said, "This is what Lions are all about. The organization is dedicated to providing wholesome activity in the events it sponsors. Any revenue generated by these activities either goes back into our community to reinforce the values that support our way of life, or they are donated to the Lions' international effort to cure blindness, a challenge that everyone can relate to. "
"Community Day is the premier Norfolk Lions community service project. It is our way of giving back to the town that has been so generous in supporting our fund raising activities for those less fortunate than ourselves."
The Norfolk Lions have served Norfolk since October 1958.
