Norfolk Community Day 2005

The Norfolk Community Day 2005 Committee is putting the final touches on a plan that expands Community Day activities planned for June 11th at Holmes Transportation property on Myrtle Street in Norfolk. The day begins at 9 AM with a Roadrace organized by the Norfolk Community League and runs through 4:00 PM with activities throughout the day.

In addition to the many popular activities provided in the past 12 years, there are a number of new rides, animal displays, fun activities and unique features. Please mark this date on your calendar.

One of the new attractions is a special program "Drumming-About-You" with Bob Bloom, which is sponsored by the Norfolk Arts Council. This is an audience participation event that will Bob Bloom provides a beautiful array of drums and percussion instruments for everyone to join in the rhythms that give rise to some of the most joyous music of Brazil, Cuba, Africa, and North America. The Norfolk Lions wish to thank the Norfolk Arts Council for sponsoring his participation this year.

Norfolk Community Day is the premier Norfolk Lions community service project each year.
