The Friends of the Norfolk Library annual Book and Bake Sale will be held on Saturday, September 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the library parking lot.

At the sale, used paperbacks and hardcover books will be sold at prices that range from 25 cents to $1 each for most books. Current best sellers will cost more, but are still heavily discounted. During the final hour of the sale (between 3 and 4 p.m.), the Friends will continue its traditional "Two Buck Bag Sale," when a grocery bag can be filled with books for only $2.

Shoppers will recognize many of the current popular titles and authors, as well as the classics, among the 15,000 books for sale. A very large selection of children's books will be available. Homemade baked goods may also be purchased.

New to this year's sale will be a "Booktique", which will be a special section set aside for the sale of higher priced books, as well as some of the library's art collection, afghans featuring special points of interest in Norfolk, Friends of the Library tote bags, and more.

Also new will be two children's story hours to be held at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. inside the library. And, for those seeking a bite to eat, the Norfolk Lions will be grilling lunch.

The Book and Bake sale could not be held without the generous support of Dedham Savings Bank, which has been the major corporate sponsor for the past three years, and a new major sponsor, Foxboro Federal Savings. All proceeds benefit the Norfolk Public Library.

Friends of the Library are invited to the "Friday Night Friends Only Book Sale," which will be held September 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. Friends will have the first opportunity to preview and buy books.

Friends of the Library have donated money to the library which entitles them to an invitation to the Friday night preview sale. Anyone who wishes to become a Friend can sign up anytime at the library or starting at 6:45 p.m. Friday evening. New this year is "You're a Friend, Bring a Friend" which entitles any current Friends to get free books for themselves, as well as any other person they bring to sign up as a new Friend that evening.

Entry to the Book and Bake Sale and its related events is free and it is wheelchair accessible.
