LIBRARY BOOK AND BAKE SALE ON SEPTEMBER 22

The Friends of the Norfolk Library annual Book and Bake Sale will be held in the library parking lot on Saturday, September 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Over 15,000 used paperbacks and hardcover books will be sold at prices ranging from 25 cents to $1 each for most books. Current best sellers will cost more, but are still heavily discounted. During the final hour of the sale (between 3 and 4 p.m.), the Friends will continue its traditional ``Two Buck Bag Sale,'' when a grocery bag can be filled with books for only $2.

Friends of the Library are invited to the ``Friday Night Friends Only Book Sale,'' which will be held September 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. Friends will have the first opportunity to purchase books. Anyone can become a Friend by signing up for a $15. donation anytime at the library or starting at 6:45 p.m. Friday evening.

Tina Stone's Tunes `N Tales, featuring storytelling and music for children of all ages, will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. inside the library on Friday evening.

The book sale will include many of the current popular titles, the classics, and a very large selection of children's books. Shoppers will also be able to browse the ``Booktique'', which is a special section set aside for the sale of higher priced books, as well as some of the library's art collection, afghans featuring special points of interest in Norfolk, library tote bags, and more.

On Saturday, a large selection of homemade baked goods will be available. And, for those wishing lunch, the Lions will be grilling hotdogs.

Children will find many activities to keep them busy, including drop in story hours at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and creating various craft projects with the Junior Friends throughout the day.

The Book and Bake sale could not be held without the generous support of its major sponsors, Dedham Savings Bank, of Dedham, and Joe Lorusso, of Wrentham. Dedham Savings Bank has been the major corporate sponsor for the past four years. Other large donors due recognition include Foxboro Federal Savings and Jofran, Inc., both of Norfolk, as well as Roche Brothers, of Millis.

Funds raised from the book sale are earmarked for the purchase of furniture for the new library addition. The expansion of the library is subject to the approval of voters at the October Town Meeting. The state has already awarded a grant of over $2 million for this project.

Entry to the Book and Bake Sale and its related events is free and it is wheelchair accessible.
