5/2 Tales of the Wild (Ages 4 to 5) stonybrook@massaudubon.org Tuesdays: 12:00pm - 1:30pm Thursdays: 10:00am - 11:30am Session I: Tuesdays, May 2nd thru. May 23rd or Thursdays, May 4th thru. May25th Session II: Tuesday, June 6th thru. June 27th or Thursdays, June 8th thru. June 29th Instructor: John Smith, Teacher/Naturalist Under the trained eye of our preschool teacher/naturalist, your child might search for busy birds, slimy salamanders, stinky skunk cabbage, or wiggling worms. Each day we will explore a different nature theme through crafts, stories, activities, and an investigation of the Stony Brook trails. Parents may remain on the Sanctuary grounds, but are not participants in this program. Fee: $45m/50nm per child per 4-week session

5/3 Early Birds (Adult) stonybrook@massaudubon.org Each Wednesdays in April and May 7:00am - 8:30am Instructor: Jack Lash Let's search the property at Stony Brook for warblers, vireos, and other songbirds that are passing through our wildlife sanctuary. Bring your binoculars and meet at the entrance to the Nature Center at 7:00am sharp! Energize your day by getting out on the trails early and sharing the company of new friends. This is the best time of the year to see the greatest variety of birds. Fee: $6m/$9nm per person per day

5/9 Preschool Prowl (Ages 2.9 to 4 with parent) stonybrook@massaudubon.org Tuesdays: 10:00am - 11:00am, Wednesdays: 12:30pm - 1:30pm Session I: Tuesdays, May 9th thru. May 30th or Wednesdays, May 10th thru. May 30th Session II: Tuesdays, June 6th thru. June 27th or Wednesdays, June 7th thru. June 28th Instructor: John Smith, Teacher/Naturalist Enjoy the outdoors with your preschooler as a Stony Brook Naturalist guides you on a nature adventure. Each day you'll enjoy a craft, a story or an activity, and an exploratory walk along Stony Brook's flat, one-mile loop. Fee: $35m/$40nm per parent/child pair per 4-week session. One younger sibling (under 2.9) in a backpack/stroller is free.

5/10 Spring Migrant Hunt at Mt. Auburn Cemetery (Adult) stonybrook@massaudubon.org Wednesday, May 10th 7:00am - 12:00pm Co-sponsored with Moose Hill Instructors: Pam Musk and Christine Turnbull Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge is the premier spring migrant area for viewing warblers and other migrants. We will search its trails for warblers, vireos, and other songbirds. The meeting place is the Moose Hill Nature Center. The first 10 registrants will be able to ride in the van, so sign-up early! Don't forget your binoculars and bring a drink, snacks, and/or your lunch. Attention: Please be flexible with the returning time. If the birding is phenomenal, we will stay later! Fee: $15m/$22nm

5/14 Family Bird Banding (Minimum age: 8) stonybrook@massaudubon.org Sunday, May 14th 7:00am - 12:00pm Instructor: Strickland Wheelock, Master Bird Bander What an amazing experience to see a variety of birds up close and in-hand. Join Strickland at the West Hill Dam Area in Mendon to learn about the banding process. Each trip to the mist nets is exciting; you never know what birds you will find! Meet at the site, bring a bag lunch, and wear rubber boots. Directions will be sent upon registration. Fee: $35m/$40nm per person

5/20 Spring Bird Walk (Minimum age: 8) stonybrook@massaudubon.org Saturday, May 20th 2:30pm - 4:00pm Bring the family on a spring bird walk as we search Stony Brook for migrating songbirds such as warblers, vireos, thrushes, and sparrows. Bring your binoculars and bird books as we learn to identify the birds by sight and sound. If it rains, we will view a slide show on the birds of New England and read nature stories that include unique facts about birds of the world. We will also have a photo quiz for kids to see whether they can identify the common birds of the Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary. Fee: $10m/$12nm per person
